{"id":2673,"date":"2019-05-20T17:30:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-20T16:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kevinlacroix.com\/victoire-et-record-pour-kevin-lacroix-a-mosport\/"},"modified":"2020-06-29T12:31:43","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T16:31:43","slug":"victoire-et-record-pour-kevin-lacroix-a-mosport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kevinlacroix.com\/en\/victoire-et-record-pour-kevin-lacroix-a-mosport\/","title":{"rendered":"VICTORY AND NEW RECORD FOR KEVIN LACROIX AT MOSPORT!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bowmanville<\/strong>, May 20, 2019 \u2013 <strong><em>Kevin Lacroix<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em>claimed his first win of the season at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and 11th career win in the <em><strong>NASCAR Pinty\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>series<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kevin Lacroix made a strong comeback in the Canadian NASCAR series with a win, after being in the Top 5 during every on-track session this past weekend. Indeed, Lacroix scored the 2nd best time during the practice session and the 2nd time in qualifying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting from the front row, beside Gary Klutt, Lacroix quickly set the pace, leading an impressive 18 of the 51-lap race. Remaining throughout with the leaders, car driver <strong>#74<\/strong> <strong>Bumper to Bumper\/ Total, Gates \/ PFC Brakes<\/strong> had some epic battles with Klutt, Tagliani and in the last laps, with Andrew Ranger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Qu\u00e9bec drivers had an intense but clean battle at the end of the race which Lacroix won after making a pass for the lead at corner 2. This is Lacroix\u2019s 4th victory at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, which gives him the record for the driver with the most wins on this track, a record he previously shared with Louis-Philippe Dumoulin and Andrew Ranger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the weekend, the Bumper to Bumper team, along with the driver, were happy with the new General Tire tires. \u201cThese tires changed the pit stop strategies,\u201d explained Lacroix. \u201cThere is a big difference between new and used tires, this is why we gambled on a late pit-stop strategy. We wanted the tires in to be in good shape for the last stretch of the race.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Saint-Eustache native states that when the team put new tires on, there was a 2-second difference between the first few laps and the 8th, 9th, and 10th laps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen we made our pit stop, the rest of the field had already stopped, so I was a bit concerned to get back on track in 10th position. It was the first time that we stopped so late in the race, but the gamble paid off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next NASCAR PINTY\u2019S event will be at <strong>Jukasa Motor Speedway<\/strong> on June 1, a well-known track for Lacroix. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to go back there because I have a win and a third place on that oval track. We have a great car there, so I am going to try to increase my lead in the championship,\u201d says Lacroix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again, the Clarington 200 attracted a vast number of enthusiastic fans from all across Canada. Many campers took advantage of the event to spend the whole weekend on site, giving it a hugely festive air.
