KEVIN LACROIX 2nd AT THE JUKASA MOTOR SPEEDWAY AFTER AN ACTION-PACKED RACE

Hagersville, ON, June 2, 2019 – Kevin Lacroix claimed a second-place finish during the APC 200 this Sunday in NASCAR Pinty’s!

The Bumper to Bumper team was at the Jukasa Motor Speedway this weekend for the first oval race of the season. If Kevin Lacroix was in control of the road courses in 2017, last season, the Saint-Eustache native proved to master both kinds of tracks.

Lacroix was eager to return to Jukasa, which was the host to his first oval victory last year. He tried to repeat this feat but finished in a very satisfying second place on Sunday afternoon.

Indeed, this second place was not necessarily expected as Lacroix had scored a 12th place during the practice session and an 11th position during qualifying, suggesting a tough race.

“The race went really well, explains Lacroix. As per usual, we were not very fast in the opening stage. But after ten laps or so, the other drivers began to slow down, but we kept the same pace. We were then able to make our way up the field. “

“I was in 3rd place towards the end of the race, and we were faster than the leader, but he was far ahead, so I did not think I had a chance to challenge him for the win. However, a yellow flag on the last lap allowed the field to regroup. I was behind Andrew Ranger for the restart, and I immediately went for the 2nd position. Andrew and I created a gap with the rest of the field, and we had an intense battle, making a lap and a half two cars wide. I dove on the inside of the last corner, but the car was slightly understeering, so I did not have a good exit and Andrew took the checkered flag before me. “

The car #74 Bumper to Bumper/ Total, Gates / PFC Brakes was excellent according to the driver. “The team did an outstanding job with the car, we had the setups from last season, and our strategy paid off. “

After winning at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and this 2nd place at the Jukasa Motor Speedway, Kevin is now in 2nd place in the Championship Standings, 1 point behind the leader, Andrew Ranger.
